Starting from May 1, 2026, a secure payment system for the sale of housing and land plots will become mandatory in Turkey. The innovation is aimed at protecting buyers and increasing the transparency of transactions.

How will the system work?

✔️ The buyer's money is placed in a secure account
✔️ The transaction is registered in the cadastre (Tapu)
✔️ After registration, the funds are transferred to the seller
✔️ In case of problems, the money remains protected

The system will be integrated with the state-owned e-Devlet platform, which will allow monitoring online transactions. Mandatory verification of real estate listings is also being introduced, which will reduce the number of fraudulent offers.

Why do foreigners safely buy property in Turkey?

Foreigners get full ownership rights (Tapu)
The law protects property owners
The buyer gets a share of the land and common areas of the building
Transactions are processed through the government 's secure payment system
All objects are registered and verified through digital services

Thanks to transparent legislation and digital control systems, Turkey remains one of the safest countries for buying real estate among resort destinations.
